About This Section

This part of Back Porch Latch Field Guide is given over entirely to driveway gates in Carlsbad, CA, from first specification through to what the finished work should look like.

Commercial Position

Back Porch Latch Field Guide has no stake in which firm a reader ends up hiring. There is no directory to buy into and no listing fee, because there is no directory.

Limits

Written guidance necessarily generalizes. Any specific property can present conditions that change the answer, which is why an on-site assessment by somebody qualified always outranks anything written beforehand.

Scope

The scope here is deliberately tight. Generic advice is easy to write and hard to act on, which is the wrong trade for a reader about to spend money.

How the Guides Are Written

The writing aims at the parts of a job a homeowner can reasonably influence. Technique belongs to the contractor, so it is covered only where a homeowner's choice depends on it.
